DV Recorder
DV Recorder is a wonderful software to capture DV video to your hard drive and computer. You can use it as an Mini DV to DVD Recorder and DV Video Recorder software.
This DV Recorder is used on PC to capture DV video. You can save DV video to your hard drive or burn DV video to DVD wtih DV Recorder.
Main functions of DV Recorder:
1) Mini dv recorder and mini dv to dvd recorder
You can use it as a mini dv recorder to capture video from mini dv camcorders. You can convert it to MPEG2 or burn mini DV to DVD.
2) Transfer Video From DV Camcorders
Save video on hard drive in cameras' native AVI DV format or directly in MPEG-2. Leave free space on your computer.
3) Transfer Video from HD-Cameras
Transfer your video files from HD-cameras and record them in camera native format or in MPEG-2
How to use DV Recorder to capture DV video
The steps to capture video from DV / mini DV camcorders is quite easy with the help of DV Recorder. Follow these guidelines to capture video from the capture device connected to your personal computer:
Preparation:
Connect your DV to your computer using an appropriate cable (usually a USB cable). For detailed steps, please refer to how to connect dv to computer.
Step 1: Turn on your capture device (if needed) and your personal computer.
Step 2: After the operating system boots, install the device drivers from the disc supplied with the device or go to the device manufacturer web site and download and install the necessary drivers. After that you might need to restart your system.
Step 3: Start DV Recorder. If you have several capture devices connected to your computer, you will get a screen like this: Your devices will be listed on the left.

If you have only one capture device connected to your computer. DV Recorder will display the dv video on the left player.

Step 4: .Select a video capture device (in case you have several) clicking it in the device list and set up its parameters.
Step 5: .Set the scheduler in case you plan to stop capturing automatically at a certain time or when the captured video file size exceeds some value.
Step 6: Change the audio format and device settings using the provided options.
Then click Start capturing button to recorde your DV video.
This DV Recorder can run on Platforms: Windows XP, 2003, Vista (no Mac OS/Linux support)
